The Washington Exhibition
Discover Our Story
The Washington Exhibition is a platform dedicated to showcasing underrepresented artists and building an inclusive creative community. We create opportunities for artists from diverse backgrounds to share their work in carefully curated gallery spaces.

The art world is often led by established names, which can make it difficult for emerging and overlooked artists to gain exposure. At Washington Exhibition, our mission is to support these artists by giving them a platform to be seen, valued, and celebrated.

We do more than host exhibitions. We also organise events and networking opportunities that bring artists and the local community together. These events encourage collaboration, learning, and meaningful connections, helping artists grow both creatively and professionally.

We are proud to have successfully presented the Black Creatives Exhibition at Copeland Park, Peckham. The event was well-received and highlighted the importance of representation, creativity, and community.
We believe art has the power to connect people, inspire conversation, and create change. By bridging the gap between artists and the public, The Washington Exhibition aims to enrich cultural experiences and support a more diverse and inclusive art world.

Whether you are an artist looking for a platform, an art lover seeking unique work, or someone who believes in our mission, we welcome you to be part of the Washington Exhibition community.

Together, let’s create, inspire, and transform the art world one exhibition at a time.

Founder
Michaela Washington-Welch
Michaela Washington-Welch is the founder and creative force behind The Washington Exhibition, leading the platform independently while laying the foundations for future growth. With a background in art education, she spent five years teaching and witnessing firsthand how talented creatives often lose confidence when they don’t see viable futures in the arts. That experience continues to shape her commitment to creating visible, affirming opportunities for artists.
As a practising artist herself, Michaela understands the realities of balancing creativity alongside full-time work and business responsibilities. She is especially passionate about supporting artists who create alongside other commitments, recognising the dedication, discipline, and depth this balance brings to their work. Through her curatorial practice, she champions artists whose voices deserve to be seen, valued, and celebrated with the same seriousness afforded to more traditional art world pathways.
Driven by a genuine love for the arts and community building, Michaela approaches each exhibition with care, intention, and a deep respect for the artists she works with, creating spaces where creativity is not only displayed but honoured.
